Choosing the perfect ring for your special lady can be difficult. Here are a few tips to keep in mind and help you along the way:

What’s her style?

Pay attention to the kinds of clothes she wears, are they mainly conservative, modern, hip, colourful, elegant, out-there, or a mixture of all kinds? Share this information with your jeweller. It helps them to show you ring styles that will best suit what she’d like.

Jewelry choices

What kind of jewelry do you see her wearing? Is it mainly yellow or white gold? Are the pieces simple and clean or intricate and lively? Does most of her jewelry have stones (if so are they colourful?), diamonds or sparkly stuff of any kind or not?

Look into her hands

Certain styles of rings look better on different sized and shaped hands. If she has long and slender hands a lovely solitaire or diamond band can be just right. On the other hand if she has thicker fingers you should avoid narrow rings or overly delicate ones. For short fingers a narrow band tends to go best as a wide one will make her fingers look even shorter.

Sneak her size

One challenge all men face is getting her ring size. There are a few options for this. You can sneak away one of her other rings to get it sized, use our ringer size chart to help with that or ask her friend for advice. You can also tell your jeweler what you know about her hand size and finger type and have the ring made with room to spare. Giver your lady the ring and then go together to a local jeweller who for a minimal fee can adjust the ring size to have it fit just right.
