The Meaning of Emeralds and Their Symbology

The Emerald is the birthstone for May.The Emerald is said to be the sacred stone of the goddess Venus.  It was believed to sustain love and to also reveal the truth of a lover's pledge.

It was considered a sacred stone to the both the Incas & the Aztecs in South America, and was associated with the god Quetzalcoatl. It is also associated with the moon, water, rain and the east.  

The Veda, which is the most sacred scripture of the Hindu's, contains information on the Emerald and its healing energies.  In the Christian religion, it is a symbol of immortality, belief and hope and is considered the Pope's stone.

 The emerald ranges in colors of deep green, which can have slightly yellowish or blueish tones.It has been cherished as a stone of prophecy, the Emerald is said to bring the wearer wisdom and insight. It said to bring good luck in love and will bring lover's closer together.
